2-About IPS Exam ?
Full form of IPS- Indian Police Service , IPS exam is conducted by UPSC in three stages Prelims , Mains and Interview and you will have to clear all the stages to make your name in the final list of selected people for various posts.
Prelims Exam-This is the first stage of exam which conducted by UPSC every year in the month of May -June and consists of two paper –Paper 1 General Studies and Paper 2 CSAT.Both papers are written in both languages (Hindi & English) So you can give this exam as per your comfort level.

Paper 1 marks will be counted for prelims merit so you have to score high to clear first stage of UPSC exam which is known as prelims. Usually the cut off for this paper goes around 55 to 60 percent every year so prepare this paper very carefully.

4-Educational Qualification to become IPS officer-
Graduation degree is must for UPSC CSE exam so you apply for this exam after completion of graduation from any recognised university. So let’s have a look on the following details

5-Age Limit to become IPS officer-
The minimum age limit for UPSC CSE IPS exam is 21 years but there is some difference in upper age limit for various category general, SC, ST OBC, PH J&K Residents.
General category 21-32 years , 06 attempts
OBC category – 21-32+3 years, 06+03 Attempts.
SC/ST category 21-32+5 years , Unlimited Attempts.
PH category 21+10 years , General+OBC -09 , Others-Unlimited.
J & K domicile General-37, OBC- 40 ,SC & ST-50 PH-50 years, Unlimited attempts.
Disabled servicemen G-37, OBC-38 ,SC+ST-40 Years, Unlimited Attempts.
6-Physical Fitness For IPS officer-
IPS ( Indian Police Service ) requires high standard of physical fitness due its job profile and working culture. A police officer play very crucial role in the maintenance of Law and Order in the state . IPS officers are posted in various high security posts in IB, CBI, RAW etc.

A new ips officer who just passed out from academy gets basic salary of Rs-56100, DA, TA and some other allowances. If we add all these monetary value, the total salary of an ips officer will be around Rs-80,000 to Rs-1 lakh per month.( these are estimates as per 7th pay commission or pay matrix ).

18-How To Apply For IPS Exam ?
